When Migration Works first began, the campaign had engaged with various universities, such as Monash University Malaysia and Taylors University with the various workshops and initiatives held.
Six years after the success of engaging with young minds to make a change, Migration Works made the decision to join hands with youths for this cause again! But how do we make learning about migrant workers issues a fun yet informative process?
The Amazing Race
In 2018, Migration Works began planning and plotting for a one-of-a-kind Amazing Race that would have youths reflect on migrant workers issues, and take action upon the newfound knowledge through a fun and interactive activity!
We visited our first university to conduct the race on the 9th of March 2019, with the UCSI University’s Campus and Community students!
The two-hour Amazing Race comprises of six entertaining yet thought-provoking tasks, creating conversations and reflections on topics such as Forced Labour and migration among the students. This was done through Escape Room-styled tasks in a simulation, fun cultural games, and opportunities to have meaningful interactions with the migrant workers on their campus.
These are some things the students had to say:
Could also include quotes throughout article.
Since the first successful one in UCSI University, Migration Works has continued with this Amazing Race at HELP University, IUMW University, and Tech Terrain College.
